Broad Ripple Lights Up

BROAD RIPPLE Lights Up!

Saturday, December 12, 2009, 3:00-7:30 p.m.

Broad Ripple Village kicks off the winter holiday season with children’s activities and the only twilight holiday parade in the city.  Enjoy food, entertainment and carriage rides. Businesses and residents will participate in a holiday decorating contest – vote for your favorite.

The whole family is invited to a holiday celebration in Broad Ripple Village. The activities will culminate with the lighting of the 21’ tall tree at the firehouse at 6330 Guilford Avenue, which is sponsored by M&I Bank.  Santa will announce the home and business winners of the third annual holiday decorating contest, and prize packages will be awarded.

The festivities will include:

  • 3-5 p.m. Jingle John, his elves and live reindeer, plus children’s activities at the Broad Ripple Firehouse at Westfield and Guilford.

  • 5:30 p.m. A twilight parade down Broad Ripple Avenue, led by Grand Marshal Jennie DeVoe, will bring Santa and Mrs. Claus to The Village in a horse drawn carriage. For information on how to enter the parade or for the parade route, see the Parade page.

  • 6:00 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus arrives at the firehouse, live music and announcement of the winners of the decorating contest, which is open to all homes in Broad Ripple and all businesses in the area. Click here to enter, or to vote.

  • Following the parade, the M&I Bank tree will be lit, and BROAD RIPPLE Lights Up! for the holidays!
