BROAD RIPPLE Lights Up!

Saturday, December 10, 2011, 2:00-7:30 p.m.

Each year Broad Ripple elebrates the winter holiday season with children’s activities and the only twilight holiday parade in Indianapolis. Enjoy food, entertainment, and horse drawn carriage rides. Businesses and residents alike may join in the parade.  Anyone may participate for a small fee.

The whole family is invited for an afternoon of festivities ending in the lighting of the 21-foot tree at the Broad Ripple Firehouse, IFD Station #32, around 7:00 pm. The free activities include crafts for the kids, face painting, balloon twisting, refreshments, and visits with Santa in the newly designed Santa House, this year's addition to the fun.

Fire fighters and EMTs will conduct tours of the firehouse and give away free helmets and badges to the kids.

Schedule:

  • 2:00-5 :00 p.m.  Kids activities, entertainment, refreshments, visits with Santa, firehouse tour
  • 5:30 p.m.  The twilight parade heads west on Broad Ripple Avenue, then east on Westfield Boulevard, bringing Santa and Mrs. Claus through the Village in a horse drawn carriage.  For information on how to enter the parade, click here.
  • 6:00 p.m.  Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive at the firehouse, more entertainment, and winners of the pasta and rice donations drawings are announced. Free horsedrawn carriage rides begin.
  • 7:00-7:15 p.m.  The M&I Bank tree is lit, and Broad Ripple Lights Up! for the holidays!
